Between 10 years, she had made 19 trips from the south to north, and the railroad network was called the underground railroad. Traveling north and becoming a famous conductor and making her way back to south after a year and half and slowly freeing the slaves using the means of railroad. She left everything she knew and had in search for freedom in 1849. Tubman dedicated her life to compassion and equality, from freeing enslaved people to advocating for women’s suffrage to caring for the elderly. She faced more persecution as she was fighting for her freedom and running away from the slave owners without their permission. Tubman had suffered from epilepsy for the rest of her life. She has suffered a traumatic injury that almost killed her. She faced many physical violence on a daily basis as she was trying to work as her masters had required her to. ![]() Even though there were many separations, she still managed to spend time with her family. Her father was separated from the family, her siblings were sold into slavery. She faced many hardships as she was growing up. Even though no one is sure when exactly she is born, it is concluded that she is born around 1822. Tubman was born into Slavery in Maryland and was in a pursuit of finding freedom. ![]()
